CV and projects
Born 1986, lives and works in Kiev and Moscow. A member of Ukrainian Photographic Alternative (UPHA).
Her daily routine is surrounded with photography in different ways: designed a book on project Stasis that was selected for young photographer’s books corner at Houston’s FotoFest 2012; created, made and supported Ukrainian Photographic Alternative website, being its web-editor for now, took part in Viktor’s Maruschenko «25 Years» project, run a rather personal photo blog reflecting on state of photography in Russia and Ukraine. Works daily as a freelance photo retoucher and a post-production editor.
From her teenage years, she was taking photographs of things and events that bothered her, now evolved into capturing and revealing small and major holes in the fabric of reality. She explores questions of perception, memory distortion and standards in collective consciousness and memory and tries not to interfere with subjects to keep the right time and space perspective for the viewer.

Stasis is a time anomaly, an artificial pause. This is not just a story about anachronism, it's a story about how the past and present in this place are mixed in weird way, just like social consciousness – 70 years of USSR, 20 of independence in corresponding percent ratio. There are artificial cheap flowers, TVs, plush curtains and “winter garden” near old soviet symbols of hammer and sickle, there are voting places from 2010 presidential elections but red flags from main painted panel were never removed. It's about how independence can only be gained, not declared in one day.
It is also a deeply personal story of coming back, reflection and recognition.
